Retirement

Investors can now invest in real estate through their retirement accounts, just as they can invest in stocks or mutual funds.  By opening a self-directed individual retirement account ("IRA") with one of the administrators or custodians that allow this, real estate can be added to your retirement portfolio.  Investments can be either direct investments that your retirement plan owns directly, or an interest in a LLC or other group investment, such as provided by Pacific Realty Investments.  While building up for future retirement, you may choose one of our Retirement Funds, and then once retired, you may want to switch to an Income Fund.

Retirement plans available include:

  • Traditional IRAs
  • Roth IRAs
  • SEP IRAs
  • 401K Plans
  •  SIMPLE (Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees) IRAs

Other tax advantaged vehicles for investing in real estate include:

  • Coverdell Educational Savings Accounts, for a family member's future educational expenses, and
  • Health Savings Accounts, for setting aside money for health expenses.

One administrator that offers these accounts is Entrust. You can find others by searching through a search engine such as Google or Yahoo and searching for "Real Estate IRA".  Pacific Realty Investments can help you set up a retirement plan to invest in real estate but does not offer these plans itself.
